Today’s stream was split into three sections: a short introduction of the upcoming WIXOSS-A-LIVE anime, the reveal of the 12 playable LRIGs designed by Shigure Ui-sensei and upcoming product information, and a demonstration match featuring Burst-chan and Ato! (Ato was useful this time around). New rules for D-Selection were also announced: for those interested, CTRL+F “rules” and skip ahead.
Anime Announcements!
This section featured YamaguchiP and co-host and voice of the protagonist, Fukuzumi Saya (福積沙耶). We’ve finally information that the anime is slated for January 2021 (delayed from end-2020)!
It will be produced by J.C. Staff as per tradition.

The premise of the story is as follows:
In a world where the card game WIXOSS has become mainstream, it has become trendy to enter the online virtual space of WIXOSSLAND to play card battles with yourself as the LRIG.
“Diva Battles”, which are battles conducted in teams of three, boast the greatest popularity among the battle formats. They compete for the greatest following of “Selectors”, their fans.
Having admired the legendary Diva known as the “Mugen Shoujo”, who charmed countless selectors with her overwhelming card battle skill paired with performance and song, Asu Hirana, a first year high school student, will be chasing the dream of becoming a Top Diva by leaping into the world of Diva Battles!
Product Announcements!
We finally have news regarding the release dates of the original trial decks, and even information regarding the new WIXOSS mobile game WIXOSSLAND!
WIXOSS Trial Deck and Groups information
As previously revealed in the teaser image, the 12 LRIGs designed by Shigure Ui for the original story of Diva-A-Live have been released!
There are four trios that are the focus of Diva-A-Live, each with their own group names and image. The trial decks will be released on 16th January 2021, retailing at 555yen much like the Ancient Surprise deck.

There will also be a double deck purchase campaign, where players stand to get a PR pack containing a signed foil of one of the LRIGs. Apparently, there’s also a secret card which features Shigure Ui herself, so do FUND THE GAME if you are a fan of hers!
To add on to the hype, key visuals drawn by keypot for WXDi-01 Glowing Diva were revealed! Enjoy the new LRIG designs illustrated in a style that pays homage to WX-01, where it all begun! WXDi-01 is also slated for release on 16th Jan 2021.

The four groups that were introduced are as follows, with name backgrounds representative of their in-game colours:
No Limit, the idol-themed protagonist trio. YamaguchiP introduces the deck as the “honest” deck of the four, with a straightforward playstyle that is easy to grasp for beginners.

Card Jockey, the DJ-themed group. The central strategy of the group is to apply effects onto their own SIGNI.

Uchyuu no Hajimari, a monster-themed band with a name that literally means “the beginning of the universe”. They feature the only non-human LRIG, Bang, who is actually an AI created by Dr. Tamago.

Diagram, a dance-themed group. The leader is said to behave like an uppity princess, the girl to the left is a playgirl, and there’s even a robot girl in the mix. This group also features the only original black (in both senses of the word) LRIG.

To add to the hype, Takara Tomy has managed to get keypot to draw the key visual for the WXDi-01
Here are the concept art for all of Shigure Ui’s new designs.
WIXOSS Mobile Game Announcements!
Not to be outdone, WIXOSS’s newly announced mobile game has also released some information regarding its premise, as well as concept art of the new MCs. The MCs can be swapped during any part of the game, so there’s no need to worry about locking yourself into your choice. You monster.

The game will feature elements of card collection, where cards may have different effects from its physical version in the TCG. Supposedly, even players who do not have a deep understanding of TCG can enjoy the game.
Story-wise, the game progresses through the viewpoint of the chosen MC. Umr, Tawil and Ato, along with other new characters from the anime, will make appearances in the game. Supposedly, if you play far enough into the story, even Tama and Piruluk may join the battle?
More information is slated for release in October.
Game Demonstration + Rules
This section featured Burst-chan and Ato playing a match against each other using the new Ancient Surprise trial deck. All the LRIGs, Assist LRIGs and Pieces, which were previously only given working names and effects, now have their effects formally introduced.

Main observations for new cards:
- Higher Ener Charge values result in hilariously high card costs. Notably, Ancient Surprise’s piece, Harmony Call, costs EIGHT ener. A Lancer limited to 15k power SIGNI costs 1GG.
- Limiting Conditions for Pieces may now include Team Names and level limits. Revealed in this stream was a Piece that could only be played by Ancient Surprise, and requires all LRIGs you control to be L1 and above.
- Cards that provide bonus effects when playing as a certain team now exist. Included in the Trial Deck is a spell that normally only adds 1 green SIGNI from your Ener to your hand. If your team is <Ancient Surprise>, you can add any SIGNI instead.
- LRIGs lack defensive abilities that can be used during the opponent’s turn, much like KS LRIGs without coin or 1/Game abilities.
- Introduction of “Banish one of your opponent’s upped SIGNI” LBs. While card retrieval and resource generation have gotten stronger on paper, the revised strength of removal LBs suggests that SIGNI play a stronger defensive role in DS games.
- SIGNIs checking for 3 or more classes in zones now exist. Class mixing seems to be encouraged in DS, and is even mentioned in the flavour text of one of the SIGNI.

Furthermore, new deckbuilding rules have been added to the game.
Colour restrictions now exist, replacing limiting conditions, so decks may now only consist of
(1) Colourless cards and
(2) cards that share the same colour as your LRIG.
These new deckbuilding rules will only apply to Diva Selection.
Ato Channel: Future Developments
Ato will be officially starting VTuber activities! Having stepped up from her lukewarm initial debut in the previous stream, Ato will have more events scheduled coming up.

Ato’s twitter account will be active starting from 28th September.
First stream is scheduled for 29th September on Ato’s channel, featuring her self-introduction.
Second stream a week after on 6th October will be a marshmallow answering session.
10th October will feature something special for fans in Japan: Ato will be holding a meet and greet session in Card Labo at the Akibahara Radio Center (9F) from 12PM to 1:30PM!
(Not that it matters to us gaijin)

Personal Thoughts
Judging from the quality of this stream, it would seem that YamaguchiP attempted to make good for the mistakes committed on the disastrous August stream. For those who are not in the know: the August stream is the only WIXOSS stream to have had its comments disabled, as there were many scathing comments and insults directed at TakTom for prioritising advertising the Nijisanji collaboration over their original characters.
The hosts on the stream were much more prepared and lively this time. Ato’s speech suggests some rehearsal, and she’s markedly less clueless and lost as compared to the August stream. They also managed to put Ato to good use by having her as part of the demonstration for the lengthy, scripted Diva Select demonstration, down to the point where they even scripted her Piece misplay. There’s definitely more effort put into producing this stream and making full use of their assets.
Content-wise, YamaguchiP seems to have realized that the August stream made the mistake of beating the audience over the head with Nijisanji newness. Content flow this time featured a once-over of the anime and no-nonsense introductions of Shigure Ui’s new designs. YamaguchiP made the effort to assure fans that the setting isn’t quite what it seems, and that Diva-A-Live will retain elements of WIXOSS that existing fans know and love. (Despair.) Even the new original LRIGs were given the signed card PR treatment similar to the Nijisanji set. To sweeten the deal, YamaguchiP darws on the power of homage and uses keypot illustrations to make the new characters more readily accepted as “LRIGs”. Ending off with a WIXOSS demonstration match that portrays familiar elements of the game in an unfamiliar format helps to reassure the audience that the game will maintain its core back-and-forth gameplay.
I entered the stream with a skeptical attitude, but slowly warmed up to the newer elements towards the end. Here’s to a brighter future for WIXOSS.
(Nah it’s still gonna die, the director for the anime is a no-name and the person with oversight over the script is that dude from Conflated.)
